Plane Skydiving
The ultimate bucket list adventure, airplane skydiving, is the best way to get up close to the Swiss Alps. An experience you will never forget! With Skydive Switzerland, you can enjoy three activities within one.
Your adventure will start with an approximately 15-minute scenic flight as the jump plane climbs to altitude. Enjoy the views of Interlaken’s two lakes and the incredible Swiss Alps, including the famous peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
The flight is followed by a 45-second adrenaline-pumping freefall from the altitude of 4,000 m (13,000 ft). Feel the ground rushing towards you at 200 km/h (120 mph)!
Once the parachute is deployed, take a deep breath and enjoy the 5-7 minute canopy ride which will safely take you back to the ground.
Come summer or winter, we operate daily all year round (except for some national holidays).
The trip, from pick-up till drop-off in Interlaken, can take up to 3.5 hours.
What’s included:
- Free pick-up from designated meeting points in Interlaken and Wilderswil
- Professional and experienced tandem instructor
- Use of skydiving jumpsuit and goggles

Share your jumping experience with all your friends and family! Watch the video below to get an idea of the difference between the Handcam and Camera Flyer* options.
*Camera Flyer subject to availability, bookable on the day of your jump.
Handcam
Your instructor has a camera attached to their wrist. The angle of the camera is up close and personal. Having the camera on your instructor also means that your canopy flight will be filmed.
Camera-Flyer
Another skydiver will join you for the jump. They will have a camera mounted to their helmet and will freefall alongside you. This angle captures more of the surroundings, and the camera flyer can fly around you to get different perspectives. The camera flyer can't capture your canopy flight.
If you want to cover all angles, you can choose both Handcam and Camera Flyer* options.
*Our camera flyers are subject to availability.
You’ve been briefed, you’re all geared up, the time is now… Let’s go to the plane!

Once everyone’s onboard, the plane will take off and climb steadily to the jump altitude. Enjoy the scenic flight!

Take a moment to look out the window. The views of the Swiss Alps are truly incredible. During the flight to altitude, you’ll be able to see Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and, on a good day, even the Matterhorn. You’ll pass over Lake Thun and make the final approach at 13,000 ft above the Skydive Switzerland dropzone.

The instructor will connect themselves to you and go through the jump plan again. At this point, you’ll be fully prepared and ready to skydive!

When the plane is on the jump run, the instructor will open the door and check the “spot”. When the light turns green, you’re up! Together, you’ll move towards the door and sit on the edge… this is it!

Just like instructed – head back, hands holding the harness, feet tucked under the edge of the plane… heart racing… the moment you’ve been waiting for!

You’re falling towards the ground! In a moment, your instructor will tap you on the shoulder to let you know you can open your arms wide. No words will be able to describe the sensation of falling at 200 km/h… Depending on the altitude of your jump, you’ll be in a complete freefall for roughly 45-55 seconds.

If you ordered a photo or video package, don’t forget to give the camera a wave and huge smiles! You may even have another person skydiving around you if you ordered the Camera Flyer option.
Photo / Video Details

At the right altitude, the instructor will deploy the parachute and you’ll slow down quickly as it opens. You’ll then feel some pressure in the harness, which is totally normal. Before you know it, you’ll be under a big parachute cruising above the valley!

After your instructor will make some adjustments to your harness for your comfort, you’ll be under the parachute for around 6 minutes and can really take in the views. What a feeling – soak it up!

Your instructor will steer the canopy towards the landing area and let you know when it’s time to lift your legs up. This will help you land softly and safely in front of the Skydive Switzerland hanger. Congratulations, you did it!

What is the difference between airplane and helicopter skydive?
The airplane flight to altitude is approximately 15 minutes, which is longer than the approximately 8 minutes it takes in the helicopter.
We can only offer handcam video/photos options from the helicopter where we can offer both handcam and camera flyer (video/photos) from the airplane, however camera flyer is subject to availability.
We can take up to 9 tandems from the airplane where we can only take 2 tandems from a helicopter.
The views from both locations are both beautiful. You are closer to the mountains when you are jumping from the helicopter but you see less of the mountain range.
When you jump from the airplane you see more of the Swiss Alps mountain range, the lakes and on very clear days you can see the Matterhorn.
-
How many people can jump at the same time?
We can take up to 9 tandems when jumping from an airplane or 2 tandems from a helicopter.
-
How high do we jump from?
We jump from 4000m (13,000ft) out of the helicopter or airplane. Dependent on weather conditions and air traffic we can jump from 4600m (15,000ft) out of the airplane for additional CHF 35.00 – this option can only be determined by the pilot on the day.
-
What is the best time of day to jump?
We recommend booking your skydive for the earliest time slot available on the earliest day you can. In the event your jump is cancelled due to weather at least you have the option to reschedule to a later time slot or day. The weather in the mountains can change quickly but we find the weather in the mornings are more favourable.
-
Can I book the high jump for CHF 450?
Due to air traffic, we cannot guarantee the high jump. We can make a remark in your booking and if it is possible on the day you can pay the difference.
-
Is your company insured or hold any certificates?
All of our tandem masters are licensed, experienced jumpers and have thousands of jumps under their belt.
Our equipment is checked regularly and are all insured.
Our aircrafts are also insured and maintained under the regulations set by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA).
We are certified and audited under the Swiss Skydive Quality Management System and we have an alliance with United States Parachute Association (USPA).
-
Do you provide medical/accident insurance?
No, we do not provide medical or accident insurance, but we recommend you to acquire it. Before skydiving, everyone is required to sign a Waiver (release of liability form) in order to participate in the activity.
You are not required to have a medical or accident insurance, but if you wish to have one, you need to organise it yourself. If you are traveling from abroad, skydiving could be covered by your travel insurance. Please get in touch with your insurer to clarify and/or arrange this.
All guests are covered by our third party liability insurance during their skydive.
-
Can I wear my contact lenses or glasses?
Yes, absolutely. We have goggles which fit easily over your glasses, so you can wear both during your skydive and see every detail of this amazing experience!
-
What is the minimum age for skydiving?
Minimum age is 12 years. From age 12 to 17 years old we require written parental or guardian consent.
-
What happens if the weather is too bad to jump?
Rain, snow, clouds, fog and wind can affect your chances of jumping.
If we need to cancel due to the weather you can reschedule for another time and date or you will get a full refund.
The weather can change so quickly here in the mountains and we cannot confidently rely on the weather forecast.
We will only decide shortly before the time of pick up if we need to cancel or not.
If we decide to cancel we will first contact you by email, approx. 30 minutes prior to the trip time.
If we cannot contact you by email we will try to contact you by telephone or through your place of accommodation.
